HK: Yaoi or Non-Yaoi?

Ah, come on. You knew something like this was gonna come in here eventually. It was a matter of time before people started screaming at me for being "hypocritical" on my site or something, for hosting/asking for yaoi content on here, yet supporting Relena.

So, why not avoid the crazy letters before they start being sent?

I like yaoi...a lot. I blame it on my "sister", AJ-sama, for getting me hooked on it with Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness), Tokyo Babylon, and X. But... something about GW yaoi doesn't appeal to me. Hell if I know why. I just don't like it.

Does this mean I hate the GW yaoi community? No, not really. Everyone's entitled to their own fan beliefs, I suppose. Does this mean I'm a twisted person because I don't like GW yaoi? No... well, I guess that's up to you to decide. But, I have an opinion, just like you do. Mine is that GW yaoi is, at least to me, unfounded. There's no proof in the anime that any of the pilots have an attraction to each other. Then again, the same could be said for some yaoi pairings in Fushigi Yuugi as well, and several other pairings found in other anime series.

But the point of this isn't to say "Oh, I don't like GW yaoi, you shouldn't either" to visitors or anything. If you like it, great. I'm happy for you. I'm glad you think Heero's better off with Duo or whoever than with Relena. If you're content with Heero being heterosexual, then good for you too. Personally, I'm a fan of 1xR, because... well... opposites attract, or something.

And even though I'm non-yaoi when it comes to GW, I don't believe in making a site where 1x(insert selected pilot here) fans can't come and enjoy it. Why turn away over 50% of the GW fanbase because I don't like GW yaoi? That's insane. And that is why I ask for yaoi content/fanfiction, post 1x2/2x1/1xWhoever links in my links page, and why I'm fairly open-minded when it comes to Heero's supposed love life.

Lately, I read about Yamato's newest concept for Gundam W fandom: NAOI. "What the hell is THAT?", you ask. Simply put, it means a supporter of both YAOI and NON-YAOI, an ideal that I hold dear for HK as well. Who the hell cares who Heero's love interest is? For all we know, his love interest might be that Ayanami Rei blowup doll that Gainax was selling a few years back, not Relena or Duo.

Alright, so maybe that was slightly vulgar, but you see my point. When you really get right down to it, Heero isn't good enough for anyone. He's more of the loner type. @.@;;
