The first question that arose when I first viewed the Anti-Door site (besides "Wth is with the title?") was "Who the hell is Door??". As soon as this question was answered, another arose, "Why the hell would you call Trieze 'door?'". Well, I looked on the page which gives the reason for such an act, and instantly the overall level of intelligence which would be used throughout the site was displayed for the first time. The reason, in one word, was pathetic. In many words, it was the very easily seen as the most intelligent part of the site, which says alot since most of the site looks as though it was pieced together in 5 minutes by a 7 year old with a box of crayons and an internet connection. I will now divide the many *other* reasons I dislike this site into sections (which relate to the actual sections of the site.
2) The reasons why they hate "Door"
Possibly the most hilarious section of the site, their reasons felt more "forced" than anything, meaning they had to look *really* hard to find reasons to hate him. I mean, hating someone because of a "his wine" or "his cape". WTF IS THAT? Oh well. I must admit, I did find this section entertaining, but I doubt they meant it to do so in the manner it did, unless they enjoy people laughing at their stupidity. I'll have a complete list of their reasons, as well as a list of reason why their reasons blow.
3) Pictures
What can I say, they had pictures? The only display of (lack of) intelligence was the comments attached to most of the pictures. Also, why the fuck don't you like Sally Po? I swear... Also, the part where you trick us into going to a page with the listing of characters *without* pictures.. that was cute.
4) Stories
Well... this was an interesting section to say the least ( the VERY least ). I felt dirty after reading just one of their "fan fics". The writers *attempt* to keep the personalities of the pilots in line with the show.. but fail. Almost completely. My favorite quote from story one was "Wufei- He’s writing something. Right? Trowa nods. I knew that cause I’m smart!" This has to be the most ridiculous line, even considering they are supposed to be 6 or whatever. I also like how they do not take any special steps to denote thoughts or actions from their actual dialouge, and I found that rather annoying. Another large flaw was the way they made Duo act. They seemily switch Duo's personality with Wufag's, since Duo acts like a complete ass several times throughout the story (this is just their first story Im commenting on, I dare not read another, I can only stand so much).
5) *gulp* Gundam Battle Planet
Why this section has such a name is beyond me. I had a hard time comprehending what was actually supposedly occuring within this section, other than Trieze not dying. The funniest one out of all the stories they have has to be the Lady Une one. I like how they incorperate magic into Gundam Wing, that really adds a shittiness that was not there before. Also, they named titled it "Lady Une vs Lady Une" and didn't even feature her in it (which is a good thing, they saved some of her dignity by leaving her out.) A more accurate title would be "A story where lots of people run around and chase other people pointlessly" or something along those lines. All I understoof out of the story the following:
1) Duo likes Sugar
2) Wufag has a "nice" side (he may have had one, but he lost it when he became an ass)
3) They don't like gongs, or buy a new one every 3 seconds
4) They have never heard of the TallGeese2 (Although it was destroyed, you have to remember Trieze was killed as well, so the battle is actually pointless)
5) Somewhere, Wufag learned how to combust people on command or at his convenience
6) They have seen at most, one episode of Gundam Wing
As for stories other than Lady Une vs Lady Une, they sucked, just not at the same level. They need to add a disclaimer to this section mentioning the dangers the storys pose to pregnant women and/or anyone operating heavy machinery. If I flamed this any one section of this site, I would have chosen this one (I thought flaming it all would be a more effective usage of time, though). Also, the idea for these "Deathmatches" was used originally for Tuxedo Fag (if you can even call the things on this page "death" or "matches" since no one dies and nothing happens). My closing comment on this section (a note to the writers) be thankful open killing is outlawed in North America, because you're up high on my hit list for insulting an anime as great as Gundam Wing.
7) The gutter
Originally, I thought this is where their page should be tossed, but.. Anyways, this section has to be the most ridiculous, and brought another point of this site over to my attention, the maintainers have a fetish involving household objects, since they reference several throught each section (IE: Door, Can Openers of death <gay>, gutter, etc). As for the actual content of this section, it holds equal to the quality of me scanning something I wrote in kindergarden, although that's almost giving them to much credit. Again, this section should have a disclaimer before you enter mentioning the extremely high levels of idiocy contained within, and how it could possibly drive you to a suicidal rage if you read it more than three times consecutivly. To put something like "trieze luz a gutter" shows how they have seen a commercial for Gundam, but have yet to actually view an episode. I personally think whoever portraies himself as "Duo" on that page finds the gutter 'seksy'.
8) Review of other shows
I only skimmed this section, because it has the word "Pokemon" in large letters *shudders*. Anyways, I quickly looked at the ratings for each show, and well, their taste reflected their intelligence. They like very little of anything reviewed. They say how bad Tenchi is, when they themselve manage a website on an equal level to the dust collecting under my chair. I really think they must be partially blind/deaf to say that Tenchi sucks. Oh well, if someone listens to them after simply looking at the title of their page, they do not deserve to watch anime.
9) Ways to kill Door
I take back what I said earlier, THIS has to be the most hilarious section of their site. After reading this section, I realized there is a large amount of people under the age of 5 surfing the internet, because all the "ways to kill door" almost suggest THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT DEATH IS. I'm not sure, but last time I checked, Trieze did not require wine to live.
10) Response to flames
Some of the flames they recieve are rather funny, and I agree with some of them. The site, which is supposedly posted for entertainment, is quite lame. The acutal enertainment is given when you flame the site for it's complete lack of quality. On this paticular section, they respond to the flames they have recieved in a manner which attempts to glorify their site and what it stands for. Understandable.. but they fail. Yes, they can have their own opinion I suppose, but at least pretend like you care about your opinion when you compose material backing it. If you are standing behind something, if you support it with the lamest possible reasons, of COURSE you're going to get flamed. Once more, I believe the makers of this site completely misunderstand Trieze. He was one of the key characters in Gundam Wing. But, hey, my opinion, right?
Summary
Well, overall, on a scale of one to ten, I'd score this a -6 (since I'm generous). Besides the errors, abstract references, misreprisentation of characters from Gundam, overly complicated title, glorification of Wufag, bashing of Trieze/Sally Po/Lady Une/Heero/Trowa, and many other things (Like the fact the Jewish do not have Churches) , the site was ok. I only hope young impressionable children do not absorb any ideals off of this page.
